KEY-IN-KNOB (KIK) CYLINDERS

A type of cylinder fairly common in the United States. Some locks accept standard replacement kik cylinders. The advantage is that they allow for different key profiles to be used. Commercial grade locks are more likely to accept replacement kik cylinders. Most cheap residential locks use proprietary cylinders that only use one or a limited number of key profiles and will not accept standard replacement cylinders.
