BOLT

Some locks use a bolt that is manually extended to interlock the door and frame. Bolts vary in shape, they may be basically round or rectangular. Bolts may move in a straight line in and out of the door or they may swing in and out of the locked position. Swinging bolts may have a hooked end designed to prevent someone from prying the door open by spreading the door away from the frame.
